Quinn de la Haye is a photographer, former Hotshot Wildland Firefighter, horseman, musician, and naturalist. Channeling his innate calm, Quinn never fails to notice the small details of a landscape and trains his eye on what is often overlooked, relishing the beauty of the subtle and mystical.

Well-traveled and well-read, Quinn has traveled to 5 continents (look out, Australia and Antarctica!)and honed his photographic eye. The American West is where Quinn calls home, and his years of wildland firefighting have given him a perspective on landscapes few are privileged to see, let alone work to save from the devastation of fire.

His appreciation of the analog qualities of wet plate photography stems from his understanding of the millennia of art and history that comprise material culture.

He uses wet plate photography, a process invented in the 1850s to create timeless images on aluminum plates. Each tintype is handcrafted using collodion and silver nitrate, blending history, craft, and a bit of alchemy. No two photographs are the same — each is a one-of-a-kind piece made to last generations.

He offers prints of his evocative and lush photography and original tintypes.
